She attended Foothill High School in Pleasanton, California a city in Alameda County, California, United States. She is of Chinese, Irish, English, and Cuban descent.
She entered porn in 2003 three months after she turned 18.[1] She has said she was so anxious to be in porn that she started making her own homemade porn videos when she was 13.[1]
She took a temporary hiatus from porn to try to join the United States Navy[1] between May and November 2004 during which she returned to school and worked at Macaroni Grill[1] in Valencia, California.
Her return to porn came shortly after her boyfriend Dan Beard committed suicide on November 7, 2004.[1]
